** The following post is my "about me" on my fundraising page for my mission trip this fall with Adventures in Missions. Follow THIS link for the entire blog. "Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'" {Matthew 28:16-20} What a great calling & command to have upon our lives. One of the cool parts of this is that it looks very different for all of us. I am so thankful & excited for what this looks like for me in this next season of my life. Hi all! My name is Kelsey & welcome to my World Race blog. Through much prayer & patience, I applied for & have been accepted to participate in the October 2016 Gap Year. From October 2016-June 2017, I have the honor of traveling to India, Malaysia, and Zambia to serve in many different capacities & share the love of Jesus. I am so thankful for the people who have already been supportive in this decision & process, and for how much I have seen God in the midst of the application process. Over the next 14 or so months, I will be actively fundraising for this trip, but I am confident that God will provide and pave the way! A little bit about me ... I am a lover & beloved of Jesus Christ. I'm twenty years old & a California native originally from Orange County, CA & currently in the Southern California desert. I have my mom, dad (in heaven), & three brothers who have a huge part of my heart. After graduating high school is 2013, I decided to go to community college to earn my Associates degree. I am so so happy I decided to do that. Going to community college has been a very rewarding process. If someone would have asked me what I want to possibly study or do with my life, my answer would always be along the lines of, "Well I'm not really sure, but I do know I want to help people." College has also been a great opportunity to find out what I enjoy & what I don't enjoy. Through this process & seeking Jesus throughout, I discovered my passion and purpose that lies in missions work. Almost two years ago, I passed by the World Race on social media. I immediately thought what an incredible opportunity it would be, but also knew it was not the right timing. I had just started my degree & was confident it was not in His will for my life to just quit what I started. I put my head and heart into something, & I'm going to see it through until the end. Because of this passion that I had and have for missions I started small. In August 2014 & June 2015, I traveled to Ouanaminthe, Haiti for eight days at a time. God used that time and experience to assure me of this passion in my heart. About two months ago I started reconsidering the World Race. And now, here we are ... this spring semester I will be graduating with my associates degree & a few months later in October is the launch of the race. What a good, faithful, & loving God I serve. It's still so surreal that this is my reality. Thank you so much for the emotional, spiritual, & financial support, and thank you for following along with this journey.

This is a blog about the ups & downs of early
adulthood, God's goodness & faithfulness, & life in other countries. “Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told."
