Worry leads to stress, which leads to anxiety. So don't worry, just trust God will work it all out. He is the master planner. Wow, is that so much more easier said than done - like most things in this life. For example, I was sitting down with my mom last night discussing potential plans and opportunities for NEXT summer. A little while later I couldn't help but think why in the world am I worrying if something is or isn't going to happen? And it is so far off in the future. We are not put here to worry and panic and waste valuable time on things that we simply can't control. Then, even if we think we figured it all out, we are still left with a sense of panic inside us. I saw an article the other day that said "sitting more than eleven hours a day increases the risk of dying within three years by 40 percent..." When I read that, I just wanted to jump off my bed and run and dance and go to something fun, and definitely not go to sleep like I was about to (even if I needed to get up for my morning class). So much of our time is really really wasted on worrying. The way I see it, like I said, worry leads to stress, which leads to anxiety, which can lead to something even worse. Do you really need something as pointless as a situation you can't control, consuming your everyday life? I'll answer that for you. No, you don't. Yes, we have those everyday, cliche things that come up every now and then - school, family, work, relationships. But please don't let it consume you and your decision to live a happy and joyful lifestyle. Don't worry, just be happy. Thanks for reading! ;)

Fight the good fight. Run into the core of the darkness in this world and fight against it. YOU have the power to change the world. God has bestowed upon you unfathomable talents and treasures that only you can use. You were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Before your parents even thought of you, God did. He planned out every moment of your life. His plans for you are unimaginable. Believe in what you think you can't do. Because with God, all things are possible (Phil. 4:13) We rest in the hope and faith that He is always walking beside us. He alone gives us our joy and gladness. So go out into the world and take hold of things you never thought you could or should. Fight the fight, take hold of the courage that He can give you. Don't let the things of this world get in your way. You are so much more powerful than that. Don't let your age - young, old, or somewhere in between - get in the way either (1 Tim. 4:12). That probably seems incredibly overwhelming to go into all the world and change it. Start small. Where are you everyday? Where do you go throughout your day? At school? At work? Grocery store? Bank? This is one of the things that I am not even close to perfecting or even being comfortable with. As much as I love Jesus and follow Him, one of my biggest struggles I have is stepping out of my comfort zone to tell other people about Him. It is one of those things that is so much more easier said than done. I have prayed about it, meditated on it, and here is what I have come to find out: you need to start small. We are called to reach to all ends of the Earth and be disciples to all nations for Christ (Matthew 28:19). Make where you are everyday your mission field. If you start there, He will lead you to places and people that seemed so out of reach in the first place. Thanks for reading! *The video below is Bethel Live from For the Sake of the World |
This is a blog about the ups & downs of early
adulthood, God's goodness & faithfulness, & life in other countries. “Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told."
